Bentley’s “Going Digital Awards in Infrastructure” report

Bentley’s Going Digital Awards in Infrastructure is an exciting and well-regarded global program that recognizes the digital advancements in infrastructure. Since 2004, the awards program has recognized over 4,700 of the world’s most outstanding infrastructure projects.

Open to all Bentley software users, it is a unique program that is truly global in scope and comprehensive in categories covered. The award categories encompass all forms of infrastructure projects and stages, from design to construction and to operations.

This and much more were the main theme of the two intense days of meetings, in-depth analysis and very wee organized interviews from Bentley Systems: in the beautiful setting of a sparkling e hyper-technological Singapore, “Strade & Autostrade” attended the annual “Year in Infrastructure” event of the “revolutionary year” for artificial intelligence.

Its goal is twofold: to advance innovation and best practices in engineering, design, construction, operation and project delivery and to celebrate the extraordinary work of the organizations that help advance the world’s infrastructure.

The winners

Projects nominated by Bentley’s global community of software users have been judged by a panel of Independent industry experts to determine the finalists in each category. The finalists have presented their projects before the jurors, press and attendees at the event in Singapore. The winners, selected by the jurors, have been announced during the awards ceremony at the event. It was so amazing to be there!

The Year in Infrastructure and Going Digital Awards keynote and breakout sessions were on Thursday, October 12.

We all met CEO Greg Bentley and the special guest Victor Khoo, Director of Survey and Geomatics, Singapore Land Authority, who directs Singapore’s world-leading digital twin initiatives.

Greg extrapolated from these insights and shared his expectations about the value of accumulating infrastructure intelligence, especially with the compounding potential of AI.

In addition, this year, the breakout sessions focused on four industries. We heard from Bentley Systems and industry leaders about how they leverage digital advancements to connect people and solutions.

Transportation: Industry Breakout Session Summary

In this session, industry leaders explored how digital twins can improve performance across the asset lifecycle. We learnt how transportation agencies are turning data into infrastructure intelligence with digital twins above and below ground and how artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) capabilities are being developed across Bentley’s portfolio of open engineering applications, enterprise systems, iTwin products and industry solutions.
