THE 9TH SYMPOSIUM ON PAVEMENTS SURFACE CHARACTERISTICS

The 9th International Symposium on Pavement Surface Characteristics – SURF 2022 (www.surf2022.org) will take place on 12-14 September 2022, in Milan, Italy.
The Symposium covers a lot of interesting topics on the surface characteristics of transportation infrastructures, making the event very attractive to transport infrastructure managers, practitioners, researchers, academics, industry professionals, road agencies, and all other interested parties.
Well-known Scientists and Authorities are invited to give their points of view on the Symposium Topics and perspectives of the next generation mobility and interaction with roads, during both Opening and Closing Ceremonies.
Around 140 accepted papers are forming the scientific core of SURF 2022. A Poster Session and 16 concurrent Technical Sessions (the topics of which are listed in the table below) are designed to give the Authors the opportunity to share the relevant results of their research.
Before the Opening Reception, on Monday September the 12th, two interesting Workshops are planned with the scope of deepening the participants knowledge about the State of Art of Surface Characteristics and about new techniques and methods related to the maintenance treatments of both concrete and bituminous pavements, which is a unique opportunity for students, young researchers, and practitioners to extend their background and to improve their professional portfolio.
Several Exhibitors and Sponsors have already joined the Symposium. The Exhibitions area is located in the middle of the Symposium venue, with the goal of making a great environment to share experiences and to improve professional relationships.
Last but not least, SURF 2022 will take place in a beautiful hotel in the city center of Milan, in front of the Duomo Church, with a walking distance from several attractive monuments and close to the shopping district of the city.
